What the reports showed!

WEF Summary...

None of us will see gender parity in our lifetimes, and nor likely will many of our children. That's the sobering finding of the Global Gender Gap report 2020, which reveals that gender parity will not be attained for 99.5 years.

The United Kingdom's ranking and results in the WEF report...

21st place DOWN from 15th

The United Kingdom has slipped down global rankings for gender equality, largely because of inequality in the work place and a persistent gender pay gap. The UK is now behind a number of more developed countries, including Germany, New Zealand and Canada, as well as behind less developed countries, including the Philippines, Nicaragua and Namibia.

Over half of all women working in the UK are involved in the health, education and retail sectors. The health and retail sectors both have a median hourly wage that is below the national average.

While women dominate the education sector, they tend to work in lower paying roles and are underrepresented in leadership roles. For example, in secondary schools women make up 38% of head teachers despite representing 63% of the teacher workforce.

Men who work in education
Men 37%
Men who are head teachers in secondary schools
Men 62%

Poor results should be a "big wake-up call" for the government, as experts call for tougher workplace regulations on discrimination.

Woobe believes gender diversity and parity in the workplace is vital for maximising ALL human potential and building successful, fair, and ethical businesses.

In 2020, a UN report found there are NO countries in the world today with gender equality and almost 90% of men and women around the world hold some sort of bias against females. Women continue to be paid less than men and are much less likely to be in senior positions.

We can change this!
